Here are some pictures taken during the Summer of 2007.
At the end of June, Mike & Rachel went on a 2 week motorcycle adventure to St. John's, Newfoundland (...as far East as you're gonna get) for the Blue Knights Atlantic Canada Friendship Weekend. Here they're on the ferry going from North Sydney, Nova Scotia to Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland.
We stopped at this scenic overlook just after getting off the ferry. The ferry is the white structure at the dock in the background, with Port Aux Basques to the right of it.
Hey, they promised me that I'd see a moose at every corner; but that just never happened. At this point, we'd been there 2 days and were headed through Gros Morne National Park en route to Trout River, Newfoundland and we'd yet to see a moose. I took this picture, just in case.... :-) Gotta LOVE the road sign, too, eh? For the record, we saw ONE moose, several days later, just as we were heading into St. John's. By the time I got turned around to get a picture of it, it had disappeared back into the woods.
And you think that Buzzards Bay is a bad name? Imagine having to live in Cow Head..... :-o Oh, and Cow Head makes Buzzards Bay look like a major city! They promised me there was a gas station there; but all's we found was this old, bent over gas pump along the shoreline. I ended up pushing my luck and running the gas tank pretty low to get to a "decent" gas station up the road.
Now it's mid-July and Ann & Mike are on their way to the Blue Knights International Convention in Milwaukee, WI. Here they are in Litchfield, IL on US-66 - You know, as in "Get your kicks on Route 66".... To the left is the old, original section, while to the right is the newer section. We rode on both sections and made a loop around the town on Route 66 - Our first ride on that famous highway. Maybe one of these days we'll do the entire highway....
Ann (a.k.a., White Fang) communing with a real Timber Wolf at the Timber Wolf Preservation Society, just outside of Milwaukee.
Ann has found her next dream car..... ;-) And we toured the Jelly Bell Warehouse in southern WI and had a great time.
Mike & Ann at the International Convention banquet with Dale & Dina Arentsen from Aurora, IL. It's always great meeting up with friends when you're on these trips.... ;-)
